Treating For Termites

Preferred Baiting Solution: Subterranean Termites protection will be provided by installing bait/monitoring stations around the exterior of the structure. Certain conditions may require the use of interior bait stations. We may also require the use of liquid termiticide treatments where necessary, at sites conducive to infestation and/or at infested areas.

Limited Liquid Solution: Subterranean Termites protection will be provided by applying a stand-alone, non-repellant, liquid termiticide to the exterior of the structure. This treatment involves trenching and rodding the soil along the foundation wall on the exterior of the structure. It also includes drilling and treating underneath concrete slabs and porches around the structure. This Pest Control Treatment is designed to create a protective treated zone between termites and the wood in the structure.

Preventative Baiting Solution: Installing bait/monitoring stations around the exterior of the structure will provide Subterranean Termite protection. We may also require the use of liquid termiticide treatments where necessary, at sites conducive to infestation.

Eastern Subterranean Termites

Habits: Eastern subterranean termites feed of weed cellulose and timber. Their presence typically goes unnoticed for lengthy periods of time, while inside of the structure, damage is caused.

Habitat: Eastern subterranean termites can be found in trim work, subflooring, flooring, and wood structuring near or below ground level.

Threats: The eastern subterranean termites are considered a serious timber threat. Homes are often considered the biggest investment a person will make. Habits: Drywood termites form large colonies, and usually swarm on sunny, warm days once the temperature has risen.

Habitat: Named after the material they live and feed under, drywood termites are typically found under dry wood with low moisture content. This could be outdoors or indoors like in attic frames.

Threats: Unlike the eastern subterranean termites, drywood termites don’t need soil to live. They can be transported by infested picture frames, furniture, chairs, and so on.

Prevention: To prevent drywood termite infestation, make sure any firewood or excess lumber is stored away from the home and the home’s foundation. Drywood termites use small holes to gain access. Seal all cracks and crevices in your home to prevent their tactic of invasion.

Formosan Termites

Habits: Swarming with formosan termites typically occurs in the evening, after a warm, rainy day. You’ll see this in late spring or early summer, due to the weather conditions.

Habitat: Formosan termites infest living trees and shrugs. They can also move to utility poles, timber, and even boats. They create nest underground made of soil and wood they cement together with saliva and feces.

Threats: Formosan termites are known as more aggressive in nature, so it can be more difficult to remove them once an infestation occurs. Structural damage can to your home can occur in as little as six months.
